CAMERON, Jane (Jean) (nee Jamieson) (1846 – 1917)
Norman Cameron, born at Barra, Inverness, Scotland, married Jane (Jean) (nee Jamieson) 1865 in Bombala. The famiy selected land at “Glenavon”, Bendoc in 1871.
Robert Jamieson and Elizabeth (nee White) arrived on the “Morrayshire” in 1856. Their children were Jane (Jean) (born Cheshire,England), Janet, John and William.
Norman Cameron donated the land for the Bendoc Union Church; his wife Jane turned the first sod.
Their children were:
Robert (1867 – 1947) married Sarah Campbell; William Henry (1871 – 1938) married Martha Roberts; Angus(1872 – 1933) married Eveline Roberts; Joseph (David) (1874 – 1917) married Emma Feltis; Jessie (1876) married Robert Bulmer; Elizabeth Jane married James Hopkins; Robert (1880 – 1935) married Isabella Alexandra Miles (1940); Catherine (Katie) (1883 – 1917) killed in a car accident on the Orbost Road, she was the first organist of the Bendoc Union Church; Donald (1836) married Sister Linda West. Don for many years assisted in the polling booth at the Bendoc School.
Robert (1880- 1935 ) married Isabella Alexandra Miles in 1910.
Their children were:
Hazel Olive; Grace Irene and Robert William (1921 – 1998).
Robert William married Elizabeth (Bessie) May Stewart in 1949. Robert took over “Pineleigh” Bendoc aged 14 years.
Their children are:
Hazel Irene; Pamela May; Robert Ronald; Douglas John (1955).
Douglas John married Judith Anne Elizabeth Gilmour in 1978.
Their children are:
Marshall Graham; Tamsin Helen; Wesley Jane; Jordan Murdock.
Jordan Murdock (1980) marrie Sinead Catherine Filtness in 2009.
